Staying in Touch with the wider UCA

These weekly Presbytery notices are a great way to help congregations and church folk find greater connection with what is going on in other congregations and the wider life of the Presbytery. It is always encouraging to learn ways in which congregations take some or all of what is in the notices and reproduce it in their weekly news sheet or on their website or other social media. This helps us to stay in touch and to be aware of important things for supporting the life and witness of congregations.

The format of the weekly notices is handy as well. You can choose to take your time and read through each of the articles, or you can skim the headings to find the things you or your congregation may be interested in. It is up to you how much time you spend with the notices. There have been occasions when I’ve just skimmed and then found something that has grabbed my attention. There has been enough information there to get me started and to give me a lead for finding out more.

I find the same thing with the weekly email of National News from Uniting Church Assembly and the weekly Insights email from Uniting Church NSW and ACT Synod.  Each of these include details about things that matter to you, your congregation or folk in your congregation. You will find that there are others in the Uniting Church across our Synod and the country who care about the things that you care about in living as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. You will find ways to connect with them that will help resource them and your congregation in building up faith and love, sustaining in hope and being led into a fuller participation in Christ’s mission in the world.

To subscribe to the weekly Insights email from Uniting Church NSW and ACT Synod, go the Insights webpage through this link Insights Magazine (uca.org.au), and scroll down until you see in the right-hand column “CONNECT WITH US”. Then click on the icon that looks like this:


Once you have clicked on the icon it will take you to a new screen “Subscribe to our weekly newsletter” where you can fill in your name and email details, and then submit.
